Alice Morland Volkova (née Alice Morland), 1st. Sgt., is the daughter of Charles Morland and Christina Hunt Morland. Born in Norfolk, East Anglia, England, she joined the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC) in her early 20s. Morland performed several rescuing and humanitarian missions in remote regions of Central Asia. She was awarded after a series of missions in Afghanistan and was promoted then to First Sergeant.

Alice Morland quit the service and married the Russian Air Force Officer Nikolay Igorevich Volkov. They have one daughter, Anzhelika Nikolayevna Volkova. She lives today in Douglas, Isle of Man.
